Brief History: Amanda Young's life has never been much of an easy ride. Her parents were deadbeats; drunkards and violent. Perhaps she was predisposed to violence and the gutter, because of this. There is not much known of her past, before she reached her twenties, and came into contact with John Kramer - the man known everywhere by the name Jigsaw. Somewhere between her disgusting childhood and adolesecence, and her meeting of John, Amanda became a drug addict. She sought solace in drugs and cutting, and it was this pitiful existence that drew the attention of Jigsaw. He abducted her and placed her into one of his traps: a reverse bear-trap attached to her jaws. She had a certain amount of time to cut out a key from the stomach of her cellmate, before the trap would trigger and rip her jaws completely open, killing her. She succeeded; cutting into him, she retrieved the key and released herself from the trap, becoming the only one to survive one of Jigsaw's "tests" up to that point. After surviving, John approached her again, this time with an offer: he adopted her as his apprentice, choosing her to continue on his work after he dies. With her help he set up the main trap for Adam and Dr. Gordon, before inserting her as an inside agent during the house of traps he created (as seen in the second film). Amanda's anger and destructive habits were not entirely contained, though, and while she cared dearly for John, almost like a surrogate father, her jealousy and bloodthirsty side still took presidence. Though she set up traps and designed them under his eye, her games were unwinnable; even if the subject completed the purpose of the test, they died anyway. Seeing his attention to the doctor she brought him, Lynn Denlon, Amanda slowly sank into further anger and jealousy, first dropping back into cutting, and then finally taking her anger out on Lynn by shooting her, causing both Lynn's death, John's, and her own.
